Companies in Poland that have decided to use artificial intelligence are already seeing beneficial results. The Amazon Web Services report indicates that as many as 94% of them have recorded an increase in revenue after implementing AI, surpassing the European average, where only 75% of companies achieve such effects.

AI in Polish companies

According to a study conducted for Amazon Web Services (AWS), already every fourth Polish company (23%) has successfully implemented solutions based on artificial intelligence, and the technology itself opens up great opportunities for our country.

– Poland is on the threshold of an unprecedented opportunity for economic development and solving important social issues with the help of artificial intelligence – believes Tomasz Stachlewski from Amazon Web Services.

Polish companies not only actively use AI, but also invest heavily in digital technologies. As many as 76% of companies admitted that without digitization their operations would be significantly hindered, and 90% stated that digital technologies are key to implementing their development strategy. Last year, there was a 51% increase in investment in this sector, with plans to further increase by 50% in 2024.

Vistula companies using AI also report positive benefits. 94% of them achieved revenue growth, 88% – indicated an improvement in innovation, and 81% – stated that artificial intelligence streamlines business processes. All these indicators are significantly higher than the European average (no more than 75% in each case).

AI generates profits 

According to the AWS report, the dominant application of AI in Polish companies are large language models and generative technologies, which can contribute to the growth of Poland's GDP by 576 billion PLN by 2030. Companies using AI also report significant improvements in innovation (88%) and business processes (81%), thus exceeding the European averages.

– Companies already see the benefits of artificial intelligence for their growth and productivity. On the other hand, faith in the ability of artificial intelligence to bring about positive changes and solve social challenges in sectors such as healthcare or education is growing. To achieve the full potential of artificial intelligence, Poland must place a strong emphasis on providing digital skills to its citizens – adds Stachlewski.

Digital gap in Poland

Almost half of entrepreneurs in Poland (48%) report a lack of basic digital competencies among employees, such as making backups or handling documents and spreadsheets. At the same time, only 23% of entrepreneurs believe that recruiting new employees with the appropriate digital skills is not a major challenge.

– Greater flexibility in terms of artificial intelligence providers would help many Polish entrepreneurs in accelerating the degree of AI technology implementation. 44% of Polish companies listed the lack of choice between AI providers as a barrier to adopting AI technology (above the European average of 39%), while 37% pointed to the lack of ability to switch between AI providers – summarizes Stachlewski.
