Summary

  • The influence of artificial intelligence (AI), particularly large language models (LLMs), is significant in the IT industry, contributing to text generation, translations, content summarization, chatbot development, and IT system code generation.
  • AI's presence and evolution are leading to the creation of new applications, solutions, and job roles. Emerging professions include AI Engineer, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, and Prompt Engineer, who construct queries to LLMs for optimal results.
  • The demand for security specialists remains high, driven by the growth of mobile financial and banking products, which necessitate solution architects in mobile device cybersecurity.
  • IT professionals should develop skills in using LLMs, writing prompts, and cybersecurity awareness. Understanding the entire production process, including security at each implementation stage, is crucial.
  • New roles are emerging in system monitoring, optimization, and reliability assurance, such as observability engineers who design telemetry strategies and implement comprehensive monitoring systems to prevent problem escalation.
  • Working with LLMs can benefit individuals outside the IT sector, as it can streamline work in various areas. Testing these solutions is encouraged for anyone working with data, text, or other content types.

- The impact of artificial intelligence is very visible in the IT industry, and in particular the impact of large language models, which are used for generating texts, translations, summarizing content, building chatbots, or generating fragments of IT system code - said PAP Radosław Bzoma, expert of the Employer Organization of IT Services SoDA (Software Development Association Poland) and President of the Board at Finture.

AI and jobs of the future

Bzoma emphasized that thanks to the presence and development of AI, not only new applications and solutions are emerging, but also new job positions are being created. Among the professions that, in his opinion, will gain in popularity, were, among others, AI Enginneer, Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer. He emphasized that previously unknown career paths are also opening up.

- More and more often we talk about so-called Prompt Engineer. These are people constructing queries to LLMs, in order to achieve the best results - explained Bzoma.

However, he noted that the demand for security specialists is not decreasing.

- The development of mobile financial and banking products drives the growth in demand for solution architects in the field of cybersecurity on mobile devices - he added.

AI and skills of the future

In his opinion, people working in the broadly understood IT should develop "the ability to use LLMs at work and the ability to write prompts as well as competencies in the field of cybersecurity awareness". He emphasized that a proper understanding of the entire production process, taking into account security at every stage of implementation, is important. He added that there are many different possibilities and sources from which one can draw knowledge.

- There are also new positions related to monitoring, optimizing and ensuring the reliability of systems: observability engineers, designing telemetry strategies and implementing comprehensive monitoring systems to prevent problem escalation - said Radosław Bzoma.

Finally, he added that some skills may also be useful to people who have nothing to do with the IT industry.

- Cooperation with LLMs, gives a chance to facilitate and streamline the work of many people in various areas - not only IT. We encourage testing of such solutions and their capabilities also by people outside this sector, everyone who works with data, text or other types of content, because it can have a real impact on their work in the near future - summarized the expert.
