Business Index: growing optimism among Polish companies

The CBM Indicator study for the Confederation of Leviathan reveals mixed feelings among company managers - 61% perceive a deterioration of business conditions, 59% are optimistic about the future, and 60% positively assess the upcoming changes in the law.

Over the past six months, 34% of companies have not noticed any significant changes in the conditions of conducting their business, with particular attention paid to regulatory and administrative aspects. Only 5% of companies noticed any improvement. 

Large companies present a particularly negative perspective, with as many as 74% indicating a deterioration in conditions. This deterioration also affected 62% of small companies and 56% of medium-sized companies, indicating widely spread challenges in the business environment.

Moods in a business context

In a business context, entrepreneurs' prospects for running a company in the coming year are positive. The majority, i.e. 59%, express optimism, while 38% approach the future with pessimism. Only 3% of companies were unable to express their opinion on this matter.

Optimism is particularly visible among managers of medium-sized companies, where 73% of them have a positive attitude. In large companies, this percentage is 68%, and in small companies - 55%.

Optimism towards legal and administrative changes

The mood among entrepreneurs regarding conducting business activities in the face of legislative changes and administrative actions is even more optimistic. As many as 60% of companies approach this with a positive attitude, with optimism being the highest among medium-sized companies (67%), then large ones (66%) and finally small ones (58%). However, 35% of companies still express concerns about their future, with the most among small companies (37%), less in large ones (30%) and the least in medium ones (27%).

The above results come from the latest cyclical survey of moods among entrepreneurs, known as the "Business Index", which was conducted by CBM Indicator on behalf of the Confederation of Leviathan in January of this year, on a representative group of companies.
