The analysis The State of Generative AI in the Enterprise developed by Deloitte includes the opinions of over 2.8 thousand business and technology leaders involved in implementing or testing the capabilities of generative artificial intelligence in their organizations.

Generative AI in business - legal regulations needed

According to the report, 78% of respondents emphasize the need to establish legal regulations specifically designed for AI. Most people are also convinced that generative artificial intelligence will change the functioning of their companies. One third of them expect this transformation to happen already this year. 

Improving efficiency (56%) and reducing costs (35%) are the main expectations associated with the use of generative AI in business, while only 29% of people see the main benefits in innovation and development. Respondents who have more knowledge about generative AI often focus on creating new ideas and conclusions.

Nearly three quarters of technologically advanced companies are already using AI for product development and research. Two thirds of respondents are excited about the possibilities of AI, but 30% of them still feel uncertain. 

Generative AI in business and the global market

However, leaders of global companies see the potential of AI not only in improving operational processes, but also in transforming entire organizations and teams. In the opinion of the majority, key decisions about the directions of changes must be made now.

The application of generative AI can allow for achieving a competitive advantage and significant benefits in terms of introducing innovation and building value for the organization – emphasizes Piotr Mechliński, partner associate, Deloitte.

Similar trends are observed in the Polish market. Aleksander Pruziński from Deloitte Digital CE points to the success in implementing genAI solutions in Salesforce technology in the financial sector, which allow for better customer service.

Although all the largest enterprise system providers plan to introduce software equipped with generative AI into their offer, such solutions in ERP or CRM systems are still a novelty – comments Pruziński.

Generative AI in business and talent management 

Changes introduced by AI also require a new approach to talent management, which is confirmed by over 70% of surveyed leaders. Over 40% of IT industry representatives in Poland believe that skills related to AI will be the most sought after in the job market in the coming years.

– In the near future, we will observe an increase in the involvement of organizations in acquiring and developing employee competencies in the field of AI – summarizes Zbigniew Łobocki, senior manager in the Human Capital team, Deloitte.

In order to prepare organizations for the use of generative AI, managers decide to acquire technical talents, educate employees and strategies for retraining staff.
