Labor market

10 most desired skills in the labor market in 2024 according to LinkedIn

LinkedIn published on its blog a ranking of the ten most desired skills in the labor market in 2024. This list was created based on job advertisements from May to October 2023 and the desired characteristics of candidates who received a job or employment offer through the platform during this time. Surprisingly, the top ten is almost entirely dominated by soft skills, requiring at least a minimal dose of empathy, openness to cooperation and flexibility from employees. On the other hand, strictly specialist skills such as knowledge of specific programming languages do not appear there.

Cover letter and photo in CV are outdated. Recruitment trends through the eyes of candidates

Almost two thirds of future employees in Poland do not attach a cover letter to their job application, according to the latest report How are times changing in recruitment? published by Pracuj.pl. The study conducted among over 2,000 people aged 18 to 65 also reveals that 62% of them do not see the need to include their photo in the CV and believe that this requirement should be permanently abandoned. In their opinion, the assessment of candidates should focus on their qualifications, not their external appearance.

Australia legally allows employees to ignore work calls after hours

Australia intends to implement regulations giving employees the right to ignore calls and messages from bosses outside of working hours without consequences, but with potential penalties for employers. The so-called "Right to Disconnect" is part of a series of changes to employment relations proposed by the federal government under a parliamentary bill that protects workers' rights and helps restore the balance between work and private life.

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Facebook, Instagram and Threads with AI content labels. Meta introduces changes

In the face of the dynamic development of AI technology, Meta has decided to take a significant step forward. Generative AI in Google Maps. Is this what the future of travel will look like?

New AI tools in Google Maps will allow for more natural location search, eliminating the need for using specific keywords. Instead, users will be able to formulate queries in colloquial language, and the application, thanks to AI, will better understand their intentions and propose personalized recommendations. In addition to traditional search results such as addresses and opening hours, Google Maps will now also offer a rich set of photos and reviews of places, allowing users to get a more detailed understanding of the suggested locations.

Google changed the name of the Bard chatbot to Gemini and introduced the Gemini Advanced interface

"Bard's mission has always been to provide users with direct access to our AI models, and Gemini is their most advanced version. To reflect this, we changed the name of Bard to Gemini" - Google announced on its corporate blog. The company also introduced two more interfaces: Gemini Advanced and a mobile application, which will make it even easier to collaborate with Google's AI. You can read more about Gemini Advanced here.

Readiness for the introduction of AI. How does Poland compare to other countries?

The highest places in the index built by Credit Agricole economists are occupied by: Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands. This is not surprising given their high level of wealth, large human capital and strong institutions. Poland is in the middle of the ranking. Among the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic countries, we are surpassed by, among others, Estonia, Hungary and the Czech Republic. "Poland is characterized by advantages in the area of human capital, demography and integration with global supply chains related to information technology", it was written in the report.

And these are alarming statistics. Due to the nature of tools in the SaaS model, the responsibility for their security rests on both involved parties - mainly on the service providers, but to some extent also on the customers. Meanwhile, for the latter, it is still a serious challenge. Therefore, in the text below, we look at the most popular threats associated with tools operating in the SaaS model and suggest how to avoid them.
